How to install WordPress

how-to-install-wordpress-tutorialIf you are a complete WordPress beginner and want to start blogging in a easy way, this is the tutorial you’ve been looking for. 🙂

WP can be installed in a very simple way, automatically, using some of the auto installers in your hosting panel such as Simple Scripts, Softaculous or any other. Also, you can install WP manually, but I’ll explain it later, in some other post.

When it comes to hosting, just stick to the Cpanel based hosting that always includes some type of script auto installer.

Step 1.

Log in to your Cpanel hosting panel (www.yoursite.com/cpanel), scroll down to the bottom of the page and you’ll see the auto installer. Usually the WP icon is visible right away, but if it’s not, just click on the installer and look for the WP.

After you select the WP, click “Install” and you’ll see the options menu. If you want your site to be installed in your domain root (yoursite.com) not in some folder (yoursite.com/foldername), leave the “In Directory” field empty.

Step 2.

Choose your domain from the drop down list, delete any text you find in the “In Directory” field, don’t touch the fields named “Database name” and “Table prefix”. Change the admin password to something you can easily memorize, admin email also. When it comes to “Enable Multisite (WPMU)” field, just leave it disabled. After you populate all relevant fields, just click the “Install” button and you are ready to go!

After a minute or two WordPress will be installed on your domain. To see your website go to your domain URL, (yoursitename.com). If you want to access the WP admin dashboard, just type yoursitename.com/wp-admin and log in using the credentials you set up on the install page.
